I am sure that there are many questions that you would like to ask about our first aid courses. We have included some of the most frequently asked questions blow.

How many people are there on a course?
We have a maximum of 12 people on our  first aid courses.
What do I need to wear on the course?
We recommend you wear comfortable clothing to participate in the practical elements of our training (not skirts or dresses) .
I have problems kneeling on the floor. Can i still attend
Yes, of course we can adapt the practical elements for you. 

If you are doing a regulated course the HSE require that we observe you undertaking full CPR on the floor as otherwise we are only able to issue a modified certificate excluding the practical elements.  

What qualifications do I get after attending one of your courses?
If you’re attending our fully regulated courses which include First aid at work, Emergency first aid at work, Paediatric First aid, Emergency Paediatric First Aid and CPR and AED courses, you will receive a Certificate issued from an awarding body, valid for 3 years. Your certificate will be printed by the awarding body and may take up to 10 days to arrive.  If you need your certificate sooner we can issue a non-regulated one and award it to you on the day.

For courses that aren’t accredited by an awarding body a certificate awarded by Oakwood First Aid Ltd will be awarded.

Do your courses comply with UK Resuscitation Council guidance?
Yes, all of our courses have been written according to the latest UK Resuscitation Council guidelines (2015)
How do I book a course?

When you have decided what course you would like please get in touch either by calling us or sending an email. Let us know when you would like the course and where and where you want the course to be taught. We will then send you a confirmation letter and paperwork for you to complete. We then ask for payment to be paid directly into our bank account. The booking will only be valid once payment has been made.

What qualifications do the trainers have to teach?
Our trainers come from all backgrounds and levels of experience. Some of our trainers have worked as paramedics or nurses, have worked within one of the other emergency services or have years of experience in teaching first aid. All our instructors have recognized teaching qualifications.
